Jacob was the son of Samuel L. and Cyrene Ann Wamsley. They are found in the 1850, 1860 and 1870 Randolph Co. (W)VA censuses. I couldn't find them in 1880 - Jacob was living with his sister, Virginia and her husband Frank McElwee in Randolph Co. A younger brother, Albert S. was living with their Uncle Jacob S. Wamsley.
