James A. Rogers married Mary J Dressler, the daughter of Charles and Nancy Carpenter Dressler. James and his brother George owned the shop that was located at the point in Coivngton where the pedesterian underpass is at the end of Main Street. I am not sure what is located there now. But it used to be a Barber Shop. The Library of Virginia has just completed the Work Progress Administration Reports and they are on line. This research has an interesting story about Jim & George Rogers. In this report it talks about the shop being used for plumbing supplies and was also the earliest courthouse and Methodist Church. If you can't find the site and are in Covington. Stop by the Alleghany Highlands Genealogical Society at 1011 Rockbridge Street, Covington, VA 24426 for a copy or write them. I would love to have a list of James Rogers and Mary J Dressler's children as I had not found any issue for them.
Donna
