A good source to review "Buck Island [Buckeyeland] Creek is to use the Historical Inventory Site at the Library of Virginia.

go to
http://lva1.hosted.exlibrisgroup.com/F/?func=file&file_name=find-b-clas15&local_base=CLAS15

enter that search [Albemarle buckeyeland] and when that search comes up, select the Buckeyeland entry and it will give you a selection to see the map of Albemarle County which has the sites of the historical inventory shown in red on the map. Enlarge and select the areas of the map that will allow you to follow creek.

If you have never found/used this resource it is UNIQUE and a I think as under utilized genealogical treasure.
