Hi, Sylvia
Thanks for posting all these records; tonight I finally solved a huge mystery...

Name: Sarah Elizabeth Bunch
Sex/Color/Status: White female, married
Date of Birth: February 28, 1848
Age: 66 years 10 months 12 days
Occupation: Housewife
Birthplace: Albermarle Co.
Name of Father and Birthplace: Lilburn J. Hughes, not known
Name of Mother and Birthplace: Mildred Kirby, Virginia
Date of Death: January 9, 1915
Place of Death: Albemarle Co., Samuel Miller
Cause of Death: Endo crinitis
Place of Burial or removal: Holy Cross Episcopal Church
Date of Burial: January 11, 1915
Informant: John A. Bunch, Farina, VA

On the 1850 census in Albemarle County Virginia, Liburn is listed as a Kirby with family Mildred Kirby, Martha Kirby, Elijah Kirby and Susan Kirby... I am assuming Mildred is John and Judith Kirby's daughter or related as the family is living on the same property with them. The census taker mistakenly assumed they were Kirbys and did not give the family Liburn Jackson Hughes' name. Once you change the names to Hughes all the records fall in place!
Nina
