As you know when she died, and I assume, where, have you gotten a death certificate for her, or checked for local newspapers that would contain an obit for her?....both would give her maiden name, probably her parents' names and places of birth. Don't believe anything you find on the internet, or anything simply told you, without knowing where they found the information...too many people simply accept things as true, without proof.
Have you looked for her in the household of her perents, say in the 1800 Federal census? That would also give you the parents names...at least her father and mothers given names, not her mother's maiden name....for that you'll need a death certificate or obit.
