I am trying to trace the origin of the wife of David Utley. He was born in 1836 in Stonington, CT, son of Samuel and Hannah (Frink) Utley. He married Delight, often thought to be the daughter of Joshua Champlin. However, Joshua's daughter Delight was born in 1855 and married Ebenezer Cary according to the House of Champlin and the Settlers of the Beekman Patent. The only other Delight Champlin I can find married Amariah Stanton, who died a few years later. She might have gone to Claverack and married David Utley, but I cannot find proof of that. Does anyone known if Delight was actually a Champlin or if there was another name?
