Marjorie E. Land
On January 24, 2009, Marjorie E. (Marge) Land nee Davis, a long-time resident of Arlington, Virginia and Norman, Oklahoma, died after a short illness in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was 89 years old.Marge is survived by her beloved husband of 67 years, Leroy C. Land, her daughter Mary Linda (Jack) Norman, her son Edward C (Ann Marie) Land and her daughter Susan K. Land. She also leaves three grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her friends and family.Born in Logan, Utah, Marge was a life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints. She attended Utah State Agricultural College (now Utah State University) before marrying Leroy. Leroy and Marge spend over 30 years traveling with the US Army in the United States and Europe. After Leroy's retirement in 1972, they moved to Norman, Oklahoma and spent 37 years there. Marge was active in the Church as well as in her community, serving on several councils and committees. She was best known for her love of golf and played as often as she could until she was 83. She was a part-owner in the local ACE Home Improvement stores in Norman, Purcell and Blanchard, Oklahoma. A memorial service for the family will be held in Las Vegas in early March. Expressions of condolence may be sent to: Leroy C.
