William/Philip Ussery, Alabama-Arkansas Links

I want to start a fresh string here as it relates to William Ussery, William D. Ussery (son), Philip Randolph Ussery (son), and the whole Alabama Usserys.

Here is what I know for sure...

William Ussery (b. circa 1800, TN) purchased land in Alabama 1831 and 1835. In the early 1850s, William D. Ussery and P.R. Ussery (Philip Randolph) purchased land within a stone's throw of William's land.

I am working on the assumption that this William is indeed William D. and P.R.'s father, since the first born is named William.

I am assuming that P.R.was named after his father's uncle, a Philip or Phillip.

I also am spectulating that;

This "William" might have ran away to Texas with a girl...
That his brother was the Philip killed in 1862, married to two or three women at the same time.

Those Ussery researchers with an interest here I would like to again start a fresh string to try to help each other out...

Philips, Williams, and Johns are very confusing in this era for sure, and maybe working together we can figure it out once and for all...
