USS BOISE- Battle of Cape Esperance

I have found my uncle MANUEL J. VELASQUEZ on the Pearl Harbor muster rolls as being transferred to the Boise in September of 1940.
He was killed on October 12,1942 "west of the Solomon islands" and buried at sea. This leads me to believe he may have died during the Battle of Cape Esperance.I know that before the ship was decommissioned there was a marker on the ship with the names of those who died aboard her at that battle.I have not been able to find the list of names to see if he is on it.Any help would be most appreciated.I need to resume fighting for his service records but am hoping to find this out anyway.Thank you.
