I'm trying to find information about my great-uncle, John E. Lundman. He was married to my grandmother's sister, Rose Fagan. He was a naturalized citizen being born in Sweden on July 13, 1884.

John was commissioned as an Ensign on the 10th of August 1917. He was assigned to the Naval Hospital in Norfolk, VA and then to duty on the Neptune in September 1917. He became a Lieut (jg) on May 27, 1918 and was on inactive duty on June 4, 1919. In the 1920 census, John's occupation is merchant marine. Sometime between the 1920 census and 1922, John died. I can't find a death certificate for him in NJ where he and Aunt Rose lived. My mom thinks that he died on a ship. Any help or information would be appreciated.
