USS Hector Navy Ship

My dad served in the USS Hector from 9/23/1944-10/15/1945. Was told it was a ship that went around and repaired other ships in the war. I have his muster roll. From the info on it they were in Saipan. He also received Philippine liberation ribbon. Have a few pictures that he brought back of the island people. How do I found out what his duty was on ship? Anybody out there have any relatives that served on USS Hector in WWII?
