Cannot find DEATH info
Posted by: Bettye Heinrich (ID *****7137) Date: May 27, 2012 at 17:30:47

We rec'd a 100 page packet of info on my cousin's father who was a merchant marine from about 1931 until at least 23 Dec 1951. We know the name of the ships he served on, have passenger lists with him listed, etc. We have a SS # and his US Merchant Marine #. With all of that we cannot find when or where he died. The packet listed date of death being 1 Nov 1985 but that turned out to be for a man in Vermont and the wrong name.

Cousin's parents divorced when he was a young boy. His older brother saw their father in CA about 1956.

father's name was JOSEPH ALFRED HARVEY PAQUET (Paquette)
he was b 16 June 1896 in Nashua, Hillsborough Co, NH
His ship mates usually called him Harvey or Frenchie.

Any suggestions as to how we can find his death date and place? We have searched the SS death index, Findagrave, and Ancestry.com listings.

Regards, Bettye
