Theodore Rhaesa
I am looking for any information on this man.
Theodore Rhaesa appears in the letter list of the NY Sun Aug 1842 as a professor of music. Next in the unclaimed letter file of the Baltimore Sun Oct 1844. In 1845, June and Sept, he advertised his daguerreian gallery and as a music teacher in the St. Louis Reveille (MO).
He then appears in the Missouri Senate Journal for January 1849 in a motion for assistance. He is sited as being a late chief musician for the State of Missouri. This motion was sent to the Claims Committee and when it was read again before the Senate it was decided not to act on it. I am guessing he was in the Mexican American War as a musician.
I have had the St. Louis Genealogical Soc look for him in their city directories --nothing. He appears in no census and I haven't found him in any military databases.
Any help will be appreciated.
