1st Alabama 12 Month Volunteer Regiment "Coffey's" (Colonel John R. Coffey)

Company K "Cunnigham's" (Captain Hugh M. Cunnigham)

Mustered into federal service on June 29, 1846 at Mobile, Alabama. Mustered out at New Orleans, Louisiana on May 25, 1847.

Of interest to the poster is that there is a Thomas Abel listed as 1st Sergeant on a muster roll dated April 30, 1847 who was sick in hospital in Verz Cruz, Mexico on April 16, 1847.

Hope this helps someone out!

Mike Nichols
