The Unit was federalized, I knew that for sometime. My gr gr grandmother got a widows penison of $8.00 a month in 1892 for John William's service in the Mexican War.

I have ordered and received a headstone for John William's grave in Davis Cemetery in Rusk Co. from the Veterans Affairs section.
