Michigan Troops in the Mexican War

I am trying to see if there is a listing of Troops from Michigan in this War. I have a sword that has been handed down to me.I am trying to see when it came into my family.
The sword has an eagle that matches the eagle on the Disturnell Treaty Map and I am trying to find a link.
My ancestor is Thomas Branch of Flint Mi. born Cornwell Eng.
Thanks for any Information.
