Asahel M. Wickham served as a Dragoon throughout the Mexican War and received a patent for 600 acres of land in Texas for his services. He was living in Washington Co, OH in 1840 but by 1848 had moved to Johnson Co, IA. I have not been able to find any record of him in the IA roster so assume he must have served from OH. (There are many different spellings of Asahel and Wickham, so I would be interested in any people with similar names.) Could someone please check the OH roster for me?? THANKS!
