Hi Frank,
Here's information on Charles Cartwright from a CD I bought from OhioFamilyRoots through eBay called "Official Roster of the Soldiers of the State of Ohio in the War of the Rebellion and the War with Mexico Volume 12":

1st Regiment Ohio Volunteers
Company B
Mustered in June 26, 1846, Cincinnati, Ohio
Mustered out June 11, 1847, New Orleans, Lousiana
Captain Luther Giddings, 23 yrs old
(promoted to Major on Aug 7, 1846)

Cartwright, Charles
Date of Entering Service:
June 1, 1846
Period of Service:
1 year
Discharged Aug 7, 1846 at Camp Belknap, Tex., on Surgeon's certificate of disability

Hope this helps! Good luck.
