I now think that Col. T. W. Waters served in the SC Militia.I am aware of Richard Calhoun Waters but I don ot know where the nake comes from.I don't think there were any earlier Waters by that name.Have you investigated the possibility that the Calhoun connection was through Richard's mother's side. She was the third wife of T. W. Waters.I descend from the second wife Hannanh Musgrove Waters (maiden name). She was a first cousin of T. W. Waters (daughter of his uncle Landon and wife Margaret Musgrove).
I would like to compare data with you.I can account for all the descendants of T. W. Waters by Hannah. They had three children. One (Thomas Willougby "Willie")died in the Federal priosn camp at Elmira NY during the Civil War. I visted the site of the camp and the graveyard two weeks ago.The daughter by that marriage had only one son who died in childhood.I descend from the second son Landon Waters.I'd like information you have on the descendants by the third wife.Let me hear from you.
