Max Geary, Co. A, US Inf - lookup, please?
Hi all,
I'm really impressed by the amount of help that people have received on this forum!I do hope that someone will be able to help me.
My g-g-grandfather, Max GEARY, is buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Trenton, NJ.A headstone provided by the military just says:
Max Geary
Co A US Inf.
d. 3/26/1889
(The family provided a headstone later, but was told that this military stone had to remain there, too.)Family 'lore' says he served in the Mexican War, but I don't know if that's true.He was born about 1817 in Germany, so I guess he would be about the right age.
I'd like to send for his military records to help with my genealogy research (maybe an exact birth date, etc.), but I suspect that it would help to have more information than this to make the request. Can someone please look up this record for me?I'd be happy to do something in return - I'm in Philadelphia, PA, so please let me know if there's any info you need that's available here.
Thank you!
Elizabeth
