Dee, just when was the Spanish-American war? My mother thinks that her Uncle Jerdan was in the Civil War, but he would have been very young at that time. Wasn't the Spanish-American War after the Civil War? If so, do you know how I could obtain names of the lst TX Mounted Volunteers to see if he is listed there? I believe, from all the sources I can obtain, that he was in Texas at least anywhere from 1850 to 1910. Thanks Sue.
