Info on Arthur Lufkin

Hello -- I am looking for any info about my Dad, Arthur C. Lufkin, who served in China at the end of WWII. He was one of the last troops into the service and only served 18 months. He has said that he used to go into the mountains to pick up downed flyers (American?) and bring them back. This was during Chang Kai Chek's (sp?)uprising and Dad said that it was quite dangerous at the time. Not too sure why he was there in the first place. Any information would be helpful.
Thanks in advance, Stephanie (Lufkin)Gross
