LOST SURNAME BOARD
Posted by: JERRY ADAMSON (ID *****3189) Date: November 06, 2013 at 12:41:58
  of 1544

Several months ago, I was notified that the Adamson surname board had been deleted. This seemed impossible as Genealogy.com had been maintaining this site for many years. After several other reports and I confirmed, I starting sending messages to the help desk.
The reply was always the same:
""Thank you for your error report. The problem has been reported to our developers and hopefully will be corrected in the near future. Feedback from you, our valued customer, helps us correct errors and improve the website. Your patience and efforts to assist us in this matter are appreciated.""
Since August I have been more concerned about this loss of access and have been checking every four to six weeks.
Finally by Telephone I have contacted Ancestry.com, who purchased the site and who have links referencing this fact. Their reply on several occasions has been, That the help desk of Genealogy.com is maintaining the site.
I have been told that after January 1, 2014. the site will discontinued by Ancestry.com. GENFORUM seems to be doomed and its usefulness wasted forever.
I have checked other surname boards and cannot find any other board having these problems. IF you know of such, Please post a reply to see if the problem is only with the ADAMSON surname board or is bigger than has been reported.
