You should always use the birth name, Cathy Black. You can show the first marriage by entering a spouse with a surname of Peddle using whatever you use for unknown names as the first name. You can add a death date for this spouse of before marriage date to second spouse. You can also look for probate or land records for Peddle to try to get more information.
