Hi Curt,
Thanks for the advice re.privatizing. I don't normally check the privatize living persons under the file list, but only during an export gedcom to my website via FTP. How it became checked I don't know but I will always look in future. I have now successfully found an earlier backup on my external drive albeit it is a couple of months old and has less names on it than the most recent one. It does however show all my christian names and dates etc.Thank goodness! Could I now perform a merge and update the most recent file with all the historic info from the earlier file?
