FTM v9 Spyware?

I just stumbled onto a file in c:\ (even though I have FTW in i:\). It's named "aqueduct.txt" and appears to contain in seconds the amount of time a user spends doing different functions in FTM, the type of printer, the port to which it's connected, the user's email program etc etc.

I'm outraged that a software manufacture would presume that he could take up space in my computer with another company's (Aqueduct Software, Inc) spy program. It was never communicated to me that this would be done.

It's not clear how this information gets out of my computer. Does aqueduct send a secret email? In any event, I deleted my aqueduct.txt file. I wonder how many other secret files were placed on my PC during the v9 installation.

This is especially stunning after Broderbund tried something similar around v7 with something called DSS Agent, but which they pulled after the outcry about Broderbund’s spying tactics.
