Thanks for the links-I did go over them in detail.

My thought was that there might some to way to research them because they were paid by the government-don't know yet.

The lightkeepers are much easier. For Maine I think I can come up with the Keepers back to 1870 pretty easily (although it would be incomplete for some lights).

For the Lifesaving Stations it looks a lot harder. The records don't seem to be as common as for Lights and crew lists might be nearly impossible-on ongoing project.
