Salem MA WW11 US Army 466th 17 th Airborne Parachute Field Battalion
Posted by: b (ID *****7175) Date: September 30, 2009 at 10:38:14
  of 1604

My late uncle James Bradley dob 1912(aprox)parents were
Patrick Bradley and Mary Ann O'Donnell(born in Co Donegal-both of them). Jim was married, Dorothy Mackin, had one duaghter at the time(toddler-or infant)
Jim also had 5 sisters Susan, Helen, Margaret, Mary, Theresa(Tess)

I believe Jim was in the US Army 17th Airborne Parachute Field Battlion. (or something close to that)
I believe they were in the European Theater during ww11.
Unfortunately I don't have access to any of his discharge paper work etc . His wife died recently(March 31 2009)
Jim died in Saugus Jan of 1957(at hosptial) At time of his death he was, I think(or had been) City Solicitor in Salem MA.

I tried going to various web pages that people have posted, but there is no mention of him, and I really would like to learn about his service years, who were his commanding officers etc, which battles he actually participated in.
Maybe who some of his buddies were. Jim was my God Father as well. My dad had died in 1952, so Jim was very special to us.

I have posted here before, but to date I still haven't been able to get any of the above information I'd really like.
Did he win any medals, if so which ones, and for what?

I wish someone whose father, son, uncle, etc had been in that group may have some information. I know its not likely they themselves are alive. Jim would be in his late 90's now if living.(or their decendents)

Thank you once again. for any help.

Barbara
