I am moving my reply to this request to the Pindar Message Board Ancestry/Rootsweb and Pander at GenForum, as it is no longer relevant for the GenForum>U.S. Military>Army Message board as no additional information on military service is available.
What I am posting is to the greater benefit of other Pindar surname researchers. Short answer is it Daniel's Brother Alva A. Pindar, listed twice in 1860 census, June 28 in Daniel's household, July 2nd in father, John Pindar's household Oneida County NY.
