In September,2008, MIA Recoveries discovered the wreckage of 42-40069 near Chabua, India. It had disappeared on 3-21-43 while on a flying the hump mission to Kunming, China. My uncle, Lt. Harvey M. Nix, Jr. was the bombardier and perished with 9 other crew members. I am trying to locate a photo of the nose art of this aircraft as a momento to my aunt, Lt. Nix's sold remaining sibling.
I have looked at a number of related sites and have so far been unable to locate this photo. I believe the aircraft and crew had been in-country for only a month when it was lost.
I would appreciate any asistance in locating a picture of the plane.
