Information on my Uncle: 2nd Lieut. Eldred E. Loder, P38 pilot

I am searching for information on my Uncle. He flew a P38 and was shot down in May of 1943 in the Mediterranean Sea I think. He flew with Capt. Darrell G. Welch from Midland, TX, Lt. E. S. E. Newbury from Bakersfield, CA, 2Lt.George Bancroft from East Windsor Hill, Conn. and 2Lt. Edward D. Shaw Jr. from Bostrop, LA. This information was found in a newspaper article dated March of 1943 telling of a airbattle that they had been involved in.
