have you found your uncle yet?? i just came across this site and it is interesting to read. my husband brian mclaughin was in the air force got out in 1977 from chanute afb, it just is not the same in rantoul, IL. anymore with the base gone. i loved it there. i can look on the ancestry family finder for his name contact me at efacciuto59@yahoo.com betty mclaughlin
