John Smith Urquhart married Eliza Gill on 27 December 1881 in Elgin Scotland. Eliza died in 1894 and John married another woman, Mary Simon and he died on13 February 1898 The family folklore is that he died “under mysterious circumstances” and that his second wife helped make those circumstances. Shortly after his death, his children by Eliza were put into an orphanage.
His children include Elizabeth Jane Urquhart (b 3 October 1883), Norman Dean Urquhart (b 1 April 1884), Constance Helen Urquhart (b 24 Feb 1889), and Ronald Munro Urquhart (b 25 October 1893).
John’s parents were Alexander and Elizabeth Dean. Eliza’s parents were Robert Gill and Jane Scott who lived in Elgin.
I have very little data on the Urquhart family in Scotland and no data on Alexander at all.
Does anyone have any data on my Urquhart lineage???
I’ll be glad to share any data I have on Elizabeth and Constance as well as lots of data on my Pearce, Meador, Henbest, and Percy lineage.
