Thought I would open another line of Urquharts. My g grandmother was Elizabeth "Libby" Hart born to a Captain John Urquhart(b.1765 Orleans,France moved to Boston 1793 m Mary Webster of N.H. 1795).Captain Urquhart was a ship captain in the Royal French Navy. When the french Revolution came,he migrated to Boston.
Libby raised my grandfather's family as staunch Presbyterians despite the Urquhart time of 50+ years in France. She is not the only family member to have shortened her name-Glen Urquhart Academy in Beverly,Mass. is on Hart Street. Her Urquhart ancestors fled to France after the Battle of Culloden in1745.
