You are going to love this site if you research Michigan.

For some years now, it has been possible to search the Michigan Death Index from 1867-1897 by going to:

http://www.mdch.state.mi.us/gendisx/index.htm

Recently, the Michigan State Library has placed the death certificates online for Michigan deaths from 1897-1920. You can browse by surname. The site is called 'Seeking Michigan' The home page is:

http://www.seekingmichigan.org

Use the one on the far left that says 'Seek'
