The reason why I question Anna Mertaugh as being correct is that there is recorded information on the marriage certificate that is lost in translation. Example: Murdo's place of birth is written as Roschile (should be Rossshire), Selina's birth place is recorded as Glostershire Scotland (should be Gloucestershire England) so my thought process is that because the information given to the town clerk to record, from Murdo and Selina is lost in translation then the Anna Mertaugh might be some other name such as Murdock (Murdoch) or even Munro. I have done an extensive search using Scotlands People and I did procur a birth certificate of a Murdo Urquhart born 1856 Sittle Land Gailoch, father is Murdo (mason) and mother is Ann Munro. What do you think?
