Thanks again for your help. In my research I found Murdo and Selina in the U.S. census. It is interesting that their of immigration and/or birth dates change from one census to the next. I have been using Scotlands People and that is where I found a marriage of Murdo Urquhart (mason)and Ann Munro married 1851 in Urray. It is possible that these two are the parents of Murdo (mason)that immigrated to the U.S.. It was common for a son to assume the same profession as his father, so when I searched Scotlands People, I searched for a Murdo Urquhart (mason) with son Murdo and a wife Ann and the only match was an Urquhart family living in Gairloch, Rossshire according to the 1861 Scotland Census. My question is- how do I prove that this family is related to my Urquhart ancestry?
Helen was Murdo's second wife, Selina died in 1910, in fact my grandfather Charles Hugh disowned his family because of his opposition to the new wife.
Thanks again, Rick
