I see there is a reference to an Urquhart family owning a Hilton Castle in your post. It is difficult to tell, but you appear to be citing the book by Caroline Downing.
After a brief search, I can find no reference to a Hilton Castle in Scotland in any of the Gazetteers. There is the former Parish of Hilton in Berwickshire; a farm property called Hilton near Dingwall, not far from the famous Castle Leod; and Hilton of Cadbol, a fishing village on the Moray Firth. None of these are on the "border" (shore?) of Loch Ness.
Do you have any other information on this supposed Hilton Castle? Perhaps there is a misspelling? I did note the existance of the book by Caroline Downing, but it is of course rare/out-of-print.
