Dear Heather.

Thanks for your info. The information I posted on my previous message is on two different lineages of my family tree, No. 1 is my material side, and No. 2 being my paternal side. Like so many around Gairloch, marriages with the same Clan and sometimes Christian names is very common and confusing.

My No. 1 GGG Grandfather Alexander Urquhart, in my family tree married a Margaret MacLeod, the details I have are as follows:

He married around 1817.
Known children:
Murdo and Janet,
Murdo being my GG Grandfather, he married twice:
First = Annabella MacKenzie who is my GG Grandmother,
Second = unknown until your followup message (your Grandmother Janet MacPherson).

Whilst Murdos second wifes name was unknown to me, I do know of one of her sons ie Alex (Alli Louer, Swift in english) Urquhart, this Alex had a daughter who married one of my MacLean uncles.

My No. 2 GGG Grandfather William Urquhart also married a Margaret MacLeod April 1809, however this was in Assynt, and just a coincidence on a very common name. This info was given to me by my cousin Willie Leitch of Cove.

I trust the above makes sense, I do believe we are talking about the same family. Do you still live in the Gairloch area, my domicile is Australia, however my family visits regularly, as both my parents hail from Gairloch.

Regards Ros MacLean
