oops, it seems that my first message wasn't posted. so again..
it seems that i am the only one on this page that still lives in switzerland.
maybe i can give you some hints. as far as i know the name urich in switzerland just existed in two small villages in canton aargau, namely in moehlin and wallbach. there's no connection to the names urech and ulrich which are pretty common names. urich is pretty rare. during the 18th and 17th century a lot of people emigrated to the united states because of a great famine. i think there were at least two urich brothers among them who emigrated.
all of them were roman catholics or maybe christian catholic but not jews.
i have already posted the address of the moehlin homepage and telefon and fax-no of the church in moehlin. they have a registry. if you'll be able to contact them i'm sure they can help you.
by the way you could also check out the swiss electronic telefon book, www.pearsoft.ch, since switzerland has just about 6 million inhabitants there are hardly more than a few urichs in it. just fill the category "name" out with urich, nothing else.
my best regards and i hope to hear something..
Inez Urich
