Hi Mandy I think that perhaps I may be able to help you. John Ure and Isabella Munnoch were my great great grandparents and John's brother, Robert, born 4 July 1820 in Bothkennar, married Janet Bennie 17 January 1846 in Polmont. They had six children, the fourth being the Robert Ure who married Janet Whyte 31 December 1874 in Polmont. One of their children was your great grandmother, Janet Bennie Ure, who was probably born 1878 in Polmont (I say probably because there were three Janet Bennie Ures born 1878, 1880 and 1881 all in Polmont and all to Robert Ure and Janet Bennie's children - following the Scots family naming system). So, yes, your Robert Ure is related to my great great grandfather John Ure but he was his nephew not his brother. All the Ure males at that time in the Polmont area were coal miners.
