I am looking for information on the birth of my GGrandfather William Upton. William was born around 1852 in Nova Scotia. His father was Thomas Upton and his mother was Marie Euphrosine Coutange. It appears that many of the Uptons had settled in an area of Nova Scotia called Arichat but I have been unable to find any birth record. William married Mary Fogarty in Gloucester MA on 23 Apr 1883. They later moved to Providence RI where they raised their family. If anyone has any info that may be helpful, it would be much appreciated.
