Hello! This is an appeal, to anyone, who could kindly help me in obtaing information, on the "ancestors" of my great grand father named Albert Upton. He arrived in Mauritius, some time after the British forces took over the island from France in 1810. The name then was Isle-de-France. Albert Upton was a member of the british Admiralty. He married in Mauritius Miss. Toussaint. Their daughter - my grand mother - named Louise Edith Aurora Upton, married in Mauritius in 1905, Jean de Comarmond, and their only child was my mother: Zélie Mary de Comarmond, born in 1907. I inherited from my mother a "gold watch", that belonged to my great grand father. At the back is engraved the crest of the Upton family, with the motto: "Virtutis Avorum Praemium"!!!... Could the above information help in progressing towards my research???.... My thanks to anyone who will contact me!.
