My Dad's maternal grandmother was Charity(Ann)Upton. She married Elijah Bagwell from Tuscaloosa,Cnty. Al.on Feb. 9,1870. I have info. that she was pos. born in the Yellow Creek comm. in Tusc. Cnty. Family tradition was that she was approx. one quarter Cherokee. I found a Charity U. dau. of Nathaniel U.,but he was a soldier in the Indian removal(Trail of Tears).Not likely the same Charity because N. or his wife would have to be one half Indian! Any information would be greatly appreciated.
