in researching another branch of my family ( Torrence and Dains ), I was surprised to find an Updegraff (also spelled Updegrove) Jacob (one record shows him as Joseph) Updegraff and his daughters "Nancy" (probably christened Anna), b. about 1770, Eleanor, Rachel b. about 1777, and Rebecca b. about 1792, became involved with the ministry of the "Publick Universal Friend", born Jemima Wilkinson, and they moved to what was then Ontario County NY, which later became Yates County they were said to have come from Berks County PA Jacob's first wife, and mother of these daughters, is apparently not known at this time Jacob subsequently married about 1801 in Philadelphia, widow Keturah "Catherine" (Kayser) Boulongee/Bellonge, b. 2 May 1775 in Philadelphia, who was also involved with this community surrounding the woman known as "The Friend" following Jacob's death, reported to be 1804 or 1808 (he is buried in "The Friend's" Cemetery in Jerusalem NY, with no dates on his stone) Keturah married for a third husband, Julius Barnes of Jacob Updegraff's daughters: Nancy married John Ingraham Rachel married Jonathan Davis Rebecca married Sewall Shattuck I still have not found the correct lineage for my Eliza Updegraff/Updegraph b. abt 1797, who married John Keeny of Carlisle, Cumberland, PA the Eliza listed in the Bible record which Bobbi Dodge found, bears a considerable resemblance to Eliza, but the names of her siblings as listed in the Bible doesn't correspond altogether with the sisters as shown on the census for Carlisle would enjoy trading information with anyone on any of these Candy Notify Administrator about this message?
