Seeking information on the Peter Updegraff who was on the 1810 York County, PA census and who apparently died circa 1820. Was one of his sons the John Updegraff b c 1800 who appears in the 1850 Hellam Twp, York Co, PA census?
On the LDS site I find a Peter who died in 1823. Is this him? He was, according to the site, the son of Harman "Herman", Sr. That line on the site traces back through several generations to Herman and Grietze.
Is the book on the descendants of Herman Op den Graeff available? I may finally be able to tie my Updegroves in with the others if I can verify Peter and his parents.
My Updegrove descent may be as follows (still working on proofs):
My 2g'sgrandmother (maternal): Elizabeth Jane "Lizzie" Updegrove (she married Collin Elberty McCurdy of Lancaster Co, PA)
Her parents: John Updegrove and Martha J. Flury(?) (1880 census and Lizzie's death cert)
His parents: John Updegraff (b c 1800) and Mary (?) (1850 census)
His father?: Peter Updegraff (1810 census shows 6 sons under 16)
