Unfortunately Jenny I can't give you Elizabeth's maiden name. I have just discovered Stephen Upson and am not sure yet if there is a direct link to him though I am researching UK Upsons.

It would be great if you know Stephen's parents, birthplace, "whatever" that might help me place him in the UK before he emigrated to America.

You have not had a response in a long time - hope you are not getting too discouraged.
