I have been trying to make sense out of all the data I have collected trying to find Judd Upson...your post has helped me sort things out. I believe Judd is the brother to my g-great grandmother, Mary Upson. My great-grandmother, Sarah (Huntley) Schmitt, left a partial list of her mother's family written in her Bible....she wrote that her mother's name was Mary Upson (Mary had a brother, Judd, and a sister, Barb) and that Mary's mother's name was Nancy.

And living not too far away I found Mary, who now is widowed, with 2 children....
Mary M. Backus, 21, (father born: Ohio.....mother born: N Y)
Hattie Backus - 5 - (born Wis)
Walter Backus - 2 - (born Wis)
I remember, as a small child, meeting relatives with the last name of Backus in Park Falls. It was never clear to me just how they were related.
On 10 May 1881, Mary marries Charles R. Huntley (my g-g-grandfather) in Spencer, Marathon Co., Wis.

Note: Mary is listed as having 6 living children....that would be these 4 daughters and Hattie & Walter, from her first marriage.
In 1910, Mary & Charles are running a boarding house in Park Falls.

Mary & Charles' eldest daughter, Sarah, is now married to Jacob Schmitt. Sarah & Jacob have two children in 1910. There eldest is Mildred H Schmitt, my grandmother.
I won't go on to list the rest, unless you are interested in it. With the info that you posted (and a lot of investigating) I was able to put it all together.
In our post, you mentioned a book written about the Upson family. What is the title? Do you know how I could get a copy? Also I think you mentioned an Upson family Association...do you have any info on that?
