Candace Upson was the daughter of Ashbel Upson who was the son of Benjamin Upson who was the son of Stephen Upson who was the son of Stephen Upson who was the son of Thomas Upson the immigrant ancestor. She was born on 19 Apr 1794 in Plymouth and died 28 Oct 187 in Byron, IL where she and her second husband are buried. Candace married 1st on 26 Apr 1812 in Camden, NY to John D. Sperry. He was born in 1787 and died on 26 Oct 1824 in Camden, NY. Candace married 2nd on 22 Feb 1825 to Luther Miller son of Eliakim and Rhoda (Pratt) Miller of Massachusetts. He was born on 17 Jul 1795 and died on 07 Nov 1882 in Byron, IL. Candace at the age of 11 moved with her parents to New Jersey and about three years later to Camden, NY. Following her second marriage she moved to Annsville, Onedia County, NY. and then to Winnebago County, IL. In 1864 she compiled a manuscript history of the descendants of Benjamin and Mary Upson of Northbury Parish, Litchfield County, which is invaluable for genalogical data. From her manuscript we quote these words "The intention of the writer of theis little sketch of history is to show to children's children a little of their ancestors, so that if they come in contact with any of them they can trace their history as far back as this is written." Alma Miller b. 06 Mar 1830 6. Alba Miller b. 08 Jul 1832, 7. Miles Miller b 03 Nov 1834 and 8. Silas P. Miller who died young.
