Most Upson family researchers think Thomas's first wife may have been named Mary. This is because their two chidlren were Thomas and Mary but no one knows for sure. I looked at the references to Alicia Pratt on Ancestry.com and the only one that listed a reference other than other ged com files (other peoples work) gives a reference to "The Able Men of England 1638" There is a book called the "The Able Men of Suffolk 1638" but this is just a list of names and not marriages as cited. The date given in the reference is 22 Oct 1547. Many other have made this 1647 and are trying to place her as Thomas's first wife. If it was 1547 she was much too old. If it was 1647 that does not work either as according to Hartford Towne Records Thomas Upson married Elizabeth Fuller on January 23, 1646. He could not have married Alicia Part in 1647 in England when he was here and married Elizabeth Fuller one year earlier. I believe this is why some of those siting this error place her as Thomas's second wife. It appears people have mixed-up their dates. I do not believe Alicia Pratt was Thomas (the immigrant's) first wife.
